The 1911 Parke Edition of Jules verne
In 1911 the Parke Edition of Jules Verne's Works was published. In this American edition the spelling was changed from English to American style. Several of the books were also abridged, and comparison with an early edition is necessary to determine the extent. For example the entire chapter of Hector Servadac in Part II relating to the history of comets is eliminated. Thus while a useful compendium which includes some hard to find titles, the work as a whole merits only one star.
